Banyana Hold Japan to A Draw



Banyana Banyana produced their best performance of the London Olympics, holding world champions Japan to a credible goalless draw in their last pool match of the women's football tournament.



Steven Pienaar Rejoins Everton

Everton have re-signed Steven Pienaar, with the playmaker returning to the club from Tottenham in a £4.5 million deal 18 months after moving to North London.

Macherano Extends Contract at Barcelona



Javier Mascherano has officially signed a new contract with Barcelona that will keep him at the Nou Camp until 2016 and increases his buy-out clause to €100 million.

The world and european champions have been knocked out of the Olympics. Spain were were favourites to win this competition considering the aboundance of talent in the spanish sqaud. They lost their first match against Japan by a loan goal and the second to the under rated Hundurans. However they have failed to leave up to expectations in the London 2012 Olympics. They failed to score a single goal in 180 minutes.

Almunia Moves To Watford









Former Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia 35 has signed a one year contract with Watford. Almunia, who made 175 appearances for Arsenal after joining them in 2004, will fill the gap left by Scott Loach`s departure to ipswich. Couple of other players will be joining Almunia at Watford such as former QPR defender Fitz Hall 31 who also signed a year contract and five others who will be joining them on loan for the whole season from Udenese and Granada both owned by the Pozzo family who took over Watford last month. They are, midfielders Daniel Pudil and Almen Abdi, and forwards Matej Vydra, Steve Leo Beleck and Ikechi Anya. Watford is now managed by the former Chelsea veteran, Gianfranco Zola who was confirmed in July 2012. Zola previously managed West Ham United between 9 September 2008 and 11 May 2010.
