Former Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia 35 has signed a one year contract with Watford. Almunia, who made 175 appearances for Arsenal after joining them in 2004, will fill the gap left by Scott Loach`s departure to ipswich. Couple of other players will be joining Almunia at Watford such as former QPR defender Fitz Hall 31 who also signed a year contract and five others who will be joining them on loan for the whole season from Udenese and Granada both owned by the Pozzo family who took over Watford last month. They are, midfielders Daniel Pudil and Almen Abdi, and forwards Matej Vydra, Steve Leo Beleck and Ikechi Anya. Watford is now managed by the former Chelsea veteran, Gianfranco Zola who was confirmed in July 2012. Zola previously managed West Ham United between 9 September 2008 and 11 May 2010. |
